First 2020 Purchase/Stater

    With some leftover x-mas money, I finally acquired my first Greek stater.

    I guess a hoard is being dispersed or something since I am seeing so many of these as of late & a VC dealer posted one that I was attracted to condition/price-wise.

    It's always nice to add greek silver to my collection.

    Yes. Traditional wisdom suggests the time to buy is when there are coins available. This appears to have been a huge find. There are some that gain points in my book by having little bonus designs in the field (I want a turtle) and there is a huge variation in strike quality.

    I suspect the worst ones will have trouble finding homes while the finest will go very high. The question is when our individual time is right.
