What Ship?

    Being familiar with Roman and Phoenician ships or galleys on ancient coins, I found the ship or boat somewhat different on reverse of this bronze coin. Reverse reads there above boat "METROPOLEOS" in Greek. I can also read something like "IERAS". The obverse shows Tyche turreted right. It weighs 4.7 g. What is this? Thank you.

    Phoenician. The reverse ethnic is the spelling of Tyre, with the first few letters ligate. Check ACsearch for more details and info.

    BMC 320. Dated 112/113 AD. Tyche with Murex shell before. Reverse has monogram of Tyre in upper Left followed by IERAC. Phoenician Galley sailing Left.
