That's got a nice clean(not cleaned) look. most of them I've seen have turned chocolate brown. Like fresh bronze.
The preservation of anything 170 years old surly has to do with storage. I am glad that the previous owners of this coin took such good care of it.

I just got a couple old copies of Charlton Catalogue of Canadian coins. One of them has the tokens with BR numbers and the newer 2001 one doesn't seem to list tokens at all. Which one of the 2 are the Standard and what book has the CH numbers?
Canada as a country didn't exist until 1867 when Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia became the Confederation of Canada. Before that there was Lower Canada (Ontario) and Upper Canada (Quebec), along with other British Colonies.
