Finally get to a place in my life that I can own some of the US coins I dreamed of for all these years.... Just in time for them to become blasé and out of fashion..... Excuse me while I go get my polyester suit and platform shoes....

Never payed a cent for all my foreign coins. I pick up the ones others throw away. Put them in large bullion cube container and never look at them again. Does that help?

That's the key issue right there. I have US coins in my collection, partly because I'm an American citizen and it would just feel wrong not to have them. But there are many of them I don't love, and if they were all I collected it would get boring fast and I'd probably get out of the hobby altogether.

"Chapter 3 includes a newspaper article detailing the first striking of the dollar. In addition, there are a number of contemporary comments about the new dollar, which are not all positive. One newspaper editor, for example, wrote, “The long line of monstrosities issued from the United States Mint, certainly receives its crown in the new dollar.”

The so called 'stagnancy' never works in my favor. Every time I go to buy so called 'stagnant' coins (commems in particular) I'm compelled to pay way more than stagnant prices.....

As for Morgan's being a work of art, all of the coins are.
But the Mercury dimes, Buffalo nickels, Standing Liberty quarters, Walking Liberty half dollars and Saint-Gaudens double eagles are the cream of the American coin crops.
