Finally get to a place in my life that I can own some of the US coins I dreamed of for all these years.... Just in time for them to become blasé and out of fashion..... Excuse me while I go get my polyester suit and platform shoes....
Never payed a cent for all my foreign coins. I pick up the ones others throw away. Put them in large bullion cube container and never look at them again. Does that help?
That's the key issue right there. I have US coins in my collection, partly because I'm an American citizen and it would just feel wrong not to have them. But there are many of them I don't love, and if they were all I collected it would get boring fast and I'd probably get out of the hobby altogether.
"Chapter 3 includes a newspaper article detailing the first striking of the dollar. In addition, there are a number of contemporary comments about the new dollar, which are not all positive. The so called 'stagnancy' never works in my favor. Every time I go to buy so called 'stagnant' coins (commems in particular) I'm compelled to pay way more than stagnant prices.....
As for Morgan's being a work of art, all of the coins are. But the Mercury dimes, Buffalo nickels, Standing Liberty quarters, Walking Liberty half dollars and Saint-Gaudens double eagles are the cream of the American coin crops.
@riff Well.. Any comments? If I were you I would just stick to creating simple threads just showing your neat foreign coins
