Found an old article on 1960 cent from July 1960 newspaper

    What are those coins worth today? My guess is less than the $8 the article says they were worth in 1960. The 1960 Large and Small date cents were really hyped (by dealers) at the time and proved to be worth very little premium in the long run.

    Does any of this sound familiar? (Speared Buffalo? Detached Leg Buffalo?)

    Many of today's modern "rarities" are probably destined for the same fate.

    Yep... destined for the same fate, and for the same reason.

    Hype leads to the "fools rush in" syndrome, temporarily and artificially inflating prices. When the novelty wears off, demand drops like a rock. So does the value, because there was little there to begin with.
