1982 D Small date vs 1982 P Small date?

Now from what I understand, in 1982 all mints were to convert over to the zinc planchet...that correct? But some mints used the old copper planchets by mistake...is that correct?

So if a 1982 small date from the Denver mint is worth $10,000, how come a 1982 small date from the Philidelphia mint is worth $.00000001?

In 1982 there are both bronze and plated cents. Switch was made during the year. Now a 1983 bronze cent...

Denver only made the small date in zinc.
So far 2 copper 1982-D small dates have been found. 1 recently.

1982 Philadelphia large date copper large date zinc small date copper small date zinc
1982 Denver large date copper large date zinc small date zinc
These are your basic 7 varieties.

Your super rare 2 coin 82-D sd copper would be 8, and then
1982-S proof large date copper is the 9th.

If you took one second to look at each 1982 penny produced,
it would take 535 years to look at every one.
    (1 billion seconds = 31.5 years.)

Well, hurry up - time's a-wasting :D - and don't forget to mark the ones you've already inspected - good luck and good hunting & may you find the rare one sooner than 535 years later
