I have finally finished going through my Grandfathers coin collection and now I'm in the process of photoing them the entire collection and will post photo's when I get them all finished and developed! A friend of mine told me he thought the 1950 D Jefferson Nickel was a decent find. I haven't had much time to do any research and wanted to get some quick opinions from you guys. It is sealed...not sure if it is original material or what but it is in very good shape. Any thoughts???
a 1950-D is one of the keys to the Jefferson series. One of the few coins (along with the war nickels, the 1938-D and S, and the 1939-D and S) within the entire series to command a premium over face value. It's a keeper!
Yes - exactly what Mike said! There are some errors worth keeping and coins that are in MS condition with all the steps in tact. Also look out for 94 and 97 nickels in matte finish. They were not release for circulation this way but were part of special sets released by the mint. They demand a very high premium!!! Good Luck ~ Darryl
