I am planning on going since a friend of mine from college is a dealer and is now going to be my "numismatic broker" since coins are the only investment that I have that is in the black. Good selection of material is up there, but it is a bit pricey.
I'm going, probably Thurs or Fri. I try to get there about 10-11 and am out at the latest by 1PM. One coin to get and a couple people to visit. That's it for me.
I was planning on going, but the costs are just too high, airfare is nuts, and driving round trip would be over $100 gas plus the tolls. And then the cost of the hotel!
I fly to B'more on the 24th and return to Dallas on the 3rd. way too long, but what are you gonna do?
Chuckle, I'll wait until they show up in Billings Mt or Rapid City, SD; drive to the show, take out $200 cash, and have a blast... Alas, waiting is the hardest part. But, I do have a (New Friend) who will be attending and will be calling me if he finds anything on a list we came up with.
We will be there for 10 days for the pre-ANA shows and the ANA convention. Luckily, the ANA is only about 2 hours from us this year, so it will be lighter on travel expeneses for us than many. Are you guys setting up at the pre ANA or walking the floor at the preshows? By the way, we shipped you guys some nice PCGS gold today.
I'm planning on going but with gas and parking about $50 I may pass. I passed on the Baltimore show last month for that reason and thinking I would just go to the ANA show instead but find myself thinking what coins I could buy with the $50 rather than spending it on gas and parking. I won't make a final decision till around the 27th. Hope all that do go have a great time and look forward to seeing pictures of all the great coins purchased.
If you want to go we might have room in the car and I swear my wife, I and friends are not axe murderers. Where in Northern Virginia are you as we might be able to meet up to take you on the way.
We will set up. I believe we have the 2 front tables just inside the door. I think Dave schmidt (the bourse chairman) and Greg Rohan (Heritage President) are old friends from when Greg used to be a big Pacific NW area dealer and Dave was one of his clients (or the other way around), so our location is good. Stop by and say hi
Yeah, I'll pick you up on the way from Indiana Not liking what I hear about "big" shows as of late. Costs are high for both sellers and buyers. Sellers charging more due to overhead and buyers wanting to pay less for, basically, the same reason. I don't even go to Chicago shows anymore and it's 30 miles away. If I pay $50 just for gas, parking etc and then buy nothing because it's over priced what's the point? clembo
Ill pick you up from Alberta, Canada. Ill stop and get Dan along the way though... So I guess I should leave tommorrow..
gonna be a long drive, But I think I can do it, Thanks to google earth I think I could find my way to your place without a hitch... weird eh? LOL
I will be attending the show from the privacy of my laptop and a bid represenative for the Heritage auction. I wanted sooooo bad to make this show, but wasn't in the cards this time.
That is what the last ax murderer told me also. LOL I don't live in Northern Virginia but in the Winchester area. If you come up I95 It's quite a ways out of the way. I take I81 to I70 to get to Baltimore. Anyway I'm thinking of maybe taking the MARC into Baltimore.
Winchester is about as far north as you can go in Virginia..:' ) I live in Loudoun County on the south side of the county so we aren't far behind in latitude. Thanks for the tip on the train, that may be one way to consider going to the ANA Baltimore.
