There are over 200 on Coin Archives. We've done 30 at NGC including 1 today.

Lol are you trying for a FDC gold of every emperor, @panzerman? ;)

That is the common Leontius II . I meant Leontius I 484-88
Usurper time of Zeno. He was captured in 488 and ordered beheaded by Zeno. I have the L. II john photos 1 030 (Medium) (1).jpg john photos 1 032 (Medium) (1).jpg

Sorry folks. I googled Leontius I solidus and that link was the first result, and the collection doesn't specify whether it is Leontius I or II.

Not only in gold but in bronze. The only one that maybe, could be, there's a possibility is the monogram. Here's mine (sorry, old photo):
    Leontius Monogram.jpg
It's basically a Leo with a bar at the top of the E. What's interesting is that I've seen probably 10 of these and not a single one has a legible obverse legend.

The other one is the piece that Sear warns us about, the Leontius ae4 type. I found mine in an uncleaned lot.

Obv: DN LEON-TIVS P AVG; bust right
Rev: VICTO (RIA AVG); Two Victories facing each holding a wreath
    Leontius Ae.jpg
Someone obviously put a lot of effort into this 12mm coin but I agree with Sear, it's likely not genuine.
