I love this thread. At 72, I don't remember but a couple of the countries mentioned. At 18, my father was in the army and stationed in Europe and I got the opportunity to hitchhike around Europe. I did get the opportunity to go through Check Point Charlie. The hair on the back of my neck stood up when I went past their "guards". I also got the opportunity to visit my father when he was in South Korea. North Korea's guards make East Germany's guards look like puppy dogs. I was in Uruguay in 1967-1968. I did get quite a few coins while down there, but when my wife kicked me out, I was lucky to get my clothes. My son told me that she took them to a coin dealer and left them there. I don't believe that. She probably thought they were worth something, so she sold them. Anyway, these coins are great. I'm always curious as to how they are assembled.
