    I was on a 4 box skunk run until today’s box yielded 1 x 1963-D, 1 x 1969-D, & 1 x 1979-S. The 2 silvers are my first of 2020.

I am home after 2 weeks vacation. Some of you may recall the day before I left for vacation I picked up a bunch of cwr halves, several of which had “silver” hand-written on the side of the roll. I had very limited time to look through the rolls before I left for vacation. Here is the photo of the labeled rolls and some contents from before my vacation.

Tonight I had more time to look through all the rolls including these rolls.

Here are the finds sorted by year.

The coins on the right side of the stacks were sprinkled throughout the cwrs that weren’t labeled “silver”.

The best finds were 1, ‘66 SMS, and 2, ‘67 SMS JFKs.

It had been a year since I picked up rolls this good, so I’m very satisfied.

    HH everyone!

    P.S.
Based on the fact the most recent date was 1984, these coins had been in these paper rolls for about 30 years. As a result, all the Cu-Ni clad coins were oxidized and not worth keeping despite many of them being BU to AU quality. Please, spend the extra money to store your coin collection in conservation grade materials!

Congrats berto! that's the silver mother lode! :D I just searched 7 boxes last nite/today and got maybe 1/3 that, 2-90%ers and 51-40%ers. Still looking for my first SMS and I'd really like to find a 1970, got four '87s. :)

7 years too late? Aw crap. Time to throw in towel. Oh well, once my 4 boxes arrive on Wednesday, I would procrastinate, do something different, try to jinx those boxes. I should guarantee them to be 0 for 4 to finish my worthless career at 0 for 91 spanning 10 months and half. I rarely post anything but I'm at a boiling point and ask around if a state is even related to struggles? I mean these Texas people have competition among them and they still scored those silvers. I should move to Wyoming or something.

I don't know, man. I want to be a collector in about anything. I mean I couldn't even find W Quarters. I asked for a few rolls of Quarters; one roll had 2019, they were all D Idaho Wilderness. No P or W. What a shame. I kept them though but they are not silver!!!! I like shiny coins but still. Oh, DDO on 1974 Halves hard to come by too. I quit collecting c-notes because old school pre-1990 designs do not come by anymore. I do not have cashier friends anymore, they're all promoted to better careers in the past decade.

Oh wow, you guys make it look so easy. Jesus. This is unbelievable. Keep it up! Maybe I should stop CRH'ing and start fawning over those coins in the forums.

I think it might be an adjustment in expectations. I was lucky enough to catch a W mint quarter in my change, but I've seen others here pour over boxes of quarters to find a few. Ratios aren't favorable...but not impossible either. An example on scarcity using the LWCs. Between 1909 and 1959, 72 billion cents were made. Compare that to current mintage figures. About the same number of LSCs have been produced in the past 10 years. Also consider the billions of LMCs and 2009 series cents produced. An individual is many times more likely to find LMCs, LSCs and Lincoln Series (2009) cents before finding a LWC. Further, adjusting that to a specific date/mm...or variety...you can see the likelihood diminishes even more. And these diminishing odds are further reduced by the CRH enthusiasts and the silver searchers (there are many folks of this creed) who pluck collectibles/bullion from the pot.

I routinely see folks, especially newbies to collecting/CRH becoming frustrated because the scope of what they are engaging in is different (maybe vastly so) than they expected. Once the numbers start to be considered, it becomes clearer that much of the frustration was the result of delusions of grandeur. Is easy to make...perhaps we all make it at the start. Having established channels to support CRH events is important. But realistically, once an individual begins hunting for things other than 'silver' or 'wheaties', the time to pour over a box expands and the pace to get and return boxes slows down. Channels aren't pushed to limits, which is typically done by silver hunters who edge check and dump boxes by the dozens. That is costly for the bank/credit union. And the wells begin to dry up. Tellers get frustrated too. Good luck on the hunt.

Found this today and it's a first for me. It's like there's a very clean cut that goes all the way through. Could it be a possible mint error?

This is damage and not a mint error. Somebody ran a wire through it. Perhaps a practice piece for a jewelry maker.

Two more boxes netted 1 x 90%er, 2 x 40%ers, and a bunch of NIFCs (including some Uncs). Christmas silver not apparent here in north Houston as I am only averaging about 1 silver per box. I have several more boxes to pick up this week and then it’s back to my normal routine.
Plus, I have a quarter box to search tonight!

Okay, opened up the Loomis quarter box and it’s not a solid box of 2019s. I still haven’t gotten one of those. :wacky:
But, I did find a W ender! :D I think I have only heard of one instance of W ender(s) on CT and it was by @furryfrog02. As I recall, he might have even gotten several W enders in one box. Mine has a fingerprint on it and is banged up a bit. Anyways, I will let you know the box results later!

Since moving three years ago the nearest bank where I can get rolls is 55 miles away, thus my roll hunting days are about finished. I do like seeing what everyone else has found, however. Keep up the search.

I honestly did not take the time to count, but I think 138 of the coins were silver.

Penny box hunt today yielded 28 wheats and 9 Canadians (1 young head). Oldest of the box was this 1930 wheatie.

So the quarter box was interesting. The W ender turned out to be a WIP. I also found another Lowell W, 3 x Arizona Extra Cactus Leafs, and only my second Wisconsin Extra Low Leaf. Plus we pulled some more Parks quarters for my Grandson’s P&D Dansco. Now, we are only missing 4 coins for a complete set. Will let him find the rest with his Dad’s help ;)
