I had a feast or famine experience with the W quarters. Found 20+ each of War in the Pacific, Lowell and River of no Return. Have only one San Antonio Mission and ZERO AMP's. :(
would love to trade out of my extras for multiples of the ones I need, to make a couple of sets.

Wow, that's a lot! Meow has only found 7 so far. Meow does have 4 AMPs, and 3 War in the Pacific ones. Meow cannot offer to trade them as Meow wants to hopefully make a paw full of sets too.
So can you tell us how many quarters you have to go through to find one? Meow would guess it takes about $400 in quarters for Meow to paw through just to find one. But Meow is happy, as Meow was expecting not to find any. And was very pleasantly happy to be able to have some hunted Catsonally in the wild. Good luck to you on your search.

well, I’m a dog person, so I can’t tell you any of this information or my Schnauzer won’t talk to me anymore.

LOL, ok. Like I said, it’s feast or famine. Or maybe Fancy Feast or famine, in starving feline terms.

The “Holy Grail” is finding a bank that has new quarter rolls and then seeing how many you can get from that teller. I have only found that situation with this last quarter design. I was in my regular bank branch and just asked to buy a few rolls of quarters. When I got them and saw they were all new shiny 2019 Idaho quarters I asked if they had more, and that teller had a total of 10 rolls, so I got those 10. He then went to their change vault to restock his quarter rack and when he opened the lid of that new $500 box of quarters, they were all brand new Idaho River of no Return rolls. I asked if he was ok if I just bought the whole box and he said sure. The 10 rolls I bought first, 400 quarters, had 4 W’s in them.

The 50 rolls in the full box had 26 W’s in 2000 quarters.

So I rewrapped all the rolls and dumped them, then two days later I went back to my branch to see if I could get another box, and I did. That 50 rolls of quarters only had one more W in it. So last week, just in P mint 2019 quarters I physically looked at more than 4,400 quarters, and found 31 W’s.

Wow, nice! Meow has yet to find new rolls of any recent quarters. Paws crossed that it will happen soon. Meow will just keep on hunting. Cheers.

31 Ws that fast is awesome Pgh, congrats! I think I'm at about 25 and about half are Lowells. If you want to trade or sell about 3 or 4 nice ones let me know. I can't even find a P or D RONR here and that's the last W I need to finish up. I also have a nice supply of DE spitting horses and AZ extra cactus leafs. :)

Update: Just left Starbucks with full roll of War In The Pacific Quarters. Found one "W". Now I'm going to try to pull some strings to get the box these came from. 20200105_095119.jpg 20200105_095130.jpg

@Mark68- Nice find! The rev. is beautiful! With the exception of these little things, it's just about flawless.

It's not damage. It's part of the minting process. Not quit sure what you call it. Maybe some type of die deterioration. It's not doubling. Maybe MD. It's fairly common, I've seen it before on these new quarters.

Wow, you have been very lucky! Meow has only seen to 2 D mint San Antonios', and has yet to see any River of no returns yet. So Meow still has a chance for those as they seem to not yet really circulated in Meow's area yet.

Do you CRH for them? If not, Meow would think the odds are against you finding one in pocket change.

Tracked down the last 10 rolls from the box. Found six more and a proof from another roll. It was an ender. 20200105_135542.jpg 20200105_135805.jpg 20200105_130227.jpg 20200105_164905.jpg 20200105_164914 (1).jpg

Yeah...... you think you are finished, but word on the streets is the mint director intends to continue the "circulating rarity" hunt in 2020 and no info on what they are doing yet.

So. Use the break wisely. I figure they will have something ready to ship to banks and hunt for by April again likely a notice of what we are going to be looking for in February sometime.
