I’m not up on paper currency but I told her that I would post them and see what more knowledgeable people would say about them and let her know. To me they seem like normal circulated bills but I may be wrong. Thanks in advance for any input

Older but I'm not into Canadian money as I no longer live near the border. They do look normal to me. The condition will hold back any real value.

Typed in the serials on Coins and Canada... yup, I concur, you got $25. Condition would have changed the outcome.

Thanks for your responses. I figured that they would be spenders. She wants to take them to her bank and see what they will give her but I think she will be disappointed. I may just give her $25 American for them and spend them when I go fishing in Canada

I agree- nice older design Canadian notes, but, unfortunately they're just worth face value.

I used to have tons of notes from the 1960's and earlier, which at the time I sold them was worth face value to folks on ebay. And yeah the condition holds them back.

Had almost a bundle of the $2 dollar bills with the older designs, was not worth much to a buyer. Especially since many of them had folds, not all were crisp and a few even had tape or writing. They were very cool looking on the other hand. The years were 1954 and 1964 I think.

They are a two major series out of date including the shift to polymer. I would not be surprised if you could not spend them up here.

Further as of Jan 1 2021 all paper bank notes will no longer be legal tender (but redeemable from the Bank of Canada )https://www.bankofcanada.ca/banknotes/upcoming-changes-to-legal-tender-status-for-older-bank-notes/

but bird notes are cool and may be worth it for some nice collectables

ETA: didn’t see the dates of the posts
