Hey guys. Was recently going over my collection today and came across my 1964-D Jefferson Nickel. Now can someone help me with identify information whether it’s a RPM or just some fading.. Thanks guys. Much appreciated.

You can also do some research at Brian's Variety Coins. Brian Ribar specializes in nickels.

This link is perfect! Thank you guys. Now how can I be so sure to trust the validity of that site? If you guys agree with it then I do as well.

The site is completely trustworthy and is recommended as are the many others that folks post here for research. Occasionally some sites and guide books make erroneous listings but once debunked, they usually, at some point correct their mistakes. Even the Cherry Pickers Guide has made listings that later are corrected.

Not sure whats fading, but it doesn't look like more than 1 mm there, but there seems to be some die deterioration or mechanical type of doubling (fading?) occurring. IMO, Jim

Looks interesting. You need lighting from both sides though as I'm curious what the right side of the D looks like. Also without that magnification which washes it out.

of course the nickel itself overall is suffering from circulation wear .. for instance the memorial is worn down and is smooth versus comparing it to a pristine copy. I'm not a nickel expert though .. we do have a few specific nickel folk here ...
