Let's say you are submitting 10 gold coins of different denominations for grading. One of the coins is a slider (has a chance at going higher...one of those "could go either way coins"). Assuming the grader is grading the coins in the order that you submit them, how would you arrange your submission? Would you cluster the coins that you know would grade higher at the beginning or end of the submission and have the slider coin in the middle of them in hopes the grader would give your coin a higher grade? Or would you place the slider with a cluster of coins that were lower grades than the slider to make the slider look better for the grader? Or does it matter at all?
Probably doesn't matter. I believe that for each coin, you get 3 graders and they take an average of sorts. So 2 would have to slide in your favor. And these folks see hundreds of coins per week. Time in hand isn't overly significant either. So, it seems to me that you'd be more likely to benefit when the grader is happy. Hope for a happy day or include a good joke with your lot.
I presume you are trying to psychologically influence the grader? I would hope the grader is better than that. I always list things in catalogue order - low denom to high, early to late dates. It's easier for me to keep track.
