I have this one. According to Numista these were overstruck from 1918 to 1920 on 20 centesimi from 1894 and 1895 as a way to preserve nickel. 661210E1-2B1F-419E-8E25-6FBA6A67B7F5.jpeg 702E33DF-96A6-4134-8024-14F8DC4C8997.jpeg

Very nice overstruck coins! Riff you say you found it, where or how. Nice die crack too.

I buy unsearched foreign bags for 5lb/35usd(and sell back @17.50). these bags have been figurative(and literal i guess) gold mines. I have literally found gold. Wher is the crack? I dont see it.

It was overstruck on the obverse probably the upper coin.

Small cracks on the R and E. I believe they would be termed die cracks. Or stress cracks from being smacked again! :wideyed:

That's not a crack. It's a remnant from the undertype. Probably the leaves on the left side of the pic you posted

@riff Nice overstrike. I have a couple of these but none with as much detail of the previous coin remaining. These are common enough that you can find them in dealers dollar pick boxes. I always try to keep an eye out for the ones with lots of detail from the undertype.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

    Very nice!

I was going to suggest that you search for an Italian type with a 20 reverse with much larger numerals and a more oval O... but it looks like @GSDykes has already identified the likely undertype.

Cool coin, but from what Krause seems to indicate, this is almost expected and thus probably not worth a huge premium.
