This tetradrachm of Roman Alexandria has emperor Claudius on the obverse and this mother, Antonia, on the reverse. Antonia was the younger daughter of Mark Antony and Octavia and named with Antony's name in the feminine form, as was the rule for naming girls in Rome.

    Tetradrachm. 24-23 mm. 12.43 grams.
    Struck year 2 [LB] = 41/2 CE.

(Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus Autocrater)
    ANTΩNIA ΣEBAΣTH
    (Antonia Augusta)

Emmett 73, common for year 2 like this one, extremely rare for years 1 and 3.
    RPC I 5117 notes 34 pieces.
Forschner 48-55 (8 pieces). Geissen 62-64 (3 pieces). [These 11 published pieces were presumably among the 34 noted in RPC.]

Show us some coins of Antonia or Claudius (or both)!

Antonia was the youngest daughter of Mark Antony and Octavia. She was a niece of the Emperor Augustus, sister-in-law of the Emperor Tiberius, paternal grandmother of the Emperor Caligula and Empress Agrippina the Younger, mother of the Emperor Claudius, and both maternal great-grandmother and paternal great-aunt of the Emperor Nero. She was additionally the maternal great-aunt of the Empress Valeria Messalina and Faustus Cornelius Sulla Felix, and paternal grandmother of Claudia Antonia, Claudia Octavia, and Britannicus.

Nice coin @Valentinian, and some other pretty nice ones as well. Here are my coins of CLaudius. The dupondius is one of my all-time favorites. I don't have a coin of Antonia. I find Claudius interesting, as he was sort of an outcast, neglected by his family but in the end would show great qualities as emperor (except perhaps his taste for women...). An unlikely turn of events!

One of my few Roman gold coins. Picked it up for cheap thanks to the almost-hole at the top of the reverse.

Lovely coin! I was not aware of the type.

I do have only one Antonia, one of my more recent acquisitions
    Antonia mother of claudius.jpg

I have a Claudius but it's at the top of my list of coins I am hoping to upgrade in 2020

    Claudius as minerva.jpg

For provincial I do have Claudius with his unfaithful wife Messalina
    Claudius Alexandria tet messalina.jpg

And his daughter Octavia with her loving husband
    Nero Octavia tet Alexandria.jpg

@Limes, that is a very rare Divus Claudius - he wasn't honored extensively after his death so that is one hole I am still trying to fill. The tetradrachms are plentiful but I just can't seem to win any of them!

Denarius of Claudius with his niece/wife Agrippina.
Nice AS of Claudius with Minerva reverse - got this from Sear a number of years ago at the NY International.
Dupondius of the very aristocratic Antonia.
An aureus - dynastic issue of Claudius with Agrippina's son Nero.
An aureus, followed by a denarius of same issue - Praetorian gate.
    Sestertius of Spes.

Thanks, not the best in terms of eye appeal but the obverse is nice and the story behind it is cool. I did a write up about it earlier. Depending how deep your pockets are, there is a very, very nice 1 offered in auction soon.

@octavius , beautiful coins of Claudius! I especially like the praetorian gate denarius, just wow!!
