Hello there folks, I have this Jefferson nickel that I was wondering if it would be worth to be sent out to get graded? And if i did what do you think it might come back as?
It's a nice coin but nowhere near worth submitting. It would cost you more then the coin is worth. That coin would have to come back MS68, 69 or 70 to be worth it.
As Tom mentioned above, this coin is not worth the submission costs to aquire a grade. I don't think it would (IMHO) fetch more than a '63, and that scratch through the steps on the reverse could certainly preclude it from getting any grade at all.....
Nice but definitely not worth the cost of grading. Any attempt to do so would be a waste of time and money.
I wouldn't submit that coin unless I was convinced it would grade MS-67FS. And with that damage on the steps, it won't grade FS. I'd guess based on the pictures that it would probably come back as an MS-65, which is worth $5. It just doesn't make sense to submit this coin.
