What is even sadder is that there are at least two people bidding on this junk.

Sadder even is the possibility that the FE won't even be spendable as 1¢.

Ebay has many roll scammers. Shiny end coins, vdb end coins etc. It is unbelievable how many people fall for these scams especially when you look at the seller's feedback and they have lots of negative ones yet people still purchase from them. I guess it's true what they say about a fool and his money.

I'd sold several lots of junk silver then later the buyer had created several of these scam rolls with the purchased coins.

As a new collector i have also noticed that there seems to be tons of cleaned coins out there,it`s fine if the dealers list the coins as such but i wonder how many don`t and try to take advantage of the next sucker that comes along

Just be honest with what you’re selling. It’s not that difficult. Either someone wants what you’re selling or they don’t. You shouldn’t have to salt your product to get it to sell. Sad.

Unfortunately, systers like this will always be there. Nobody except another scammer either likes or appreciates what these swindlers perpetuate. But, playing devil's advocate here, what if cheats on this scale did not exist? What if one could believe everything that was stated about each and every coin listing we saw? Would our hobby be as challenging and interesting without these unscrupulous souls being part of the equation? The argument could be made that these b******s keep us and our imaginations on our toes. Merely the idea that these bad apples exist, teaches the normal person to think before they act. Haven't we all been fleeced by these punks at least once in our life? I know I have........and I'm wiser for the experience. I say bring them on and let's do battle!

As a beginner, I’m not interested in a battle that’s going to cost me. I’m scared at this point to trust anything.

It's really pretty easy. Don't bid/buy anything unless you are sure of what it is. If you are not sure, just walk away.

I think one of the most important things I learned as a collector is to never be in too big of a hurry to get that coin. There are lots of them out there and when the right one comes along you will know it. If I get even the slightest feeling that something's not right I move on.

One of the best ways to stay out of trouble is to study what you are looking for before you even think of buying. When you learn what something should look like the problems get easy to spot.
