Hello All, I found the atttached 1984 Lincoln Penny in a coin-roll I received in a Gift-Basket for Christmas. I can't determine if the coin is just worn from age and laying around in the elements over the years, or if some of the errors existed when it left the Philadelphia Mint. You're thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Your coin is environmentally damaged. Spend it. http://www.error-ref.com/zinc-deterioration-on-lincoln-cents/
Here are a few more that my friend taped to the gift-basket. Although the photo doesn't pick it up, they are both "Buckled" in the center from east to west.
Pressed or rubbed against on the obverse allowing the zinc to show on the surface. Quite a bit of wear. Looks like it was pressed against something with a curved top of sorts. Certainly not mint damage.
