    Hi gang,
Not sure if this was ever addressed before, sorry if a repeated post.
After seeing several listed on Ebay as “errors” l wanted to ask, were there ever any quarters minted with tin?
I did a search but find no mention of such coins except for a poorly made video l assume is a hoax. Thanks!

It seems to me the metal is too pliable to be used for circulation or collector coins.

I'm not aware of any tin specimens and it would seem highly unlikely as the vending industry would have squashed any such attempt. It may be that some private entity might have made some type of token resembling a U.S. quarter.

Arent there foreign coins consisting of tin? If so....could it be a wrong planchet issue? I bet the seller doesnt show the edge of the coin. Sounds like a scam.

No, he posted two pics of the edge. Normal nickel/copper just like the millions of other coins minted.

Tin was used to augment other metals to form bronze cents, but that's another story.

Your screen shot tells us all we need to know. Stay away from this person. A very ignorant post to say the least and only 1 feedback. SMH
