I can buy bulk world coins by the 5 lb bag for 35 us(and sell them back for half) gone through about a quarter a bag and this is what I have cataloged this morning. Not anything special, but I didnt have these before. View attachment 1044733
it really is. The Luxembourg 2.5 is really low mintage, too. Cant even find mintage numbers on the Prussia Pfenning.
If I may ask, where do you buy them from? And if it's from a coin shop, is this something that most coin shops offer?
@riff Nice pick for today. What is a CASH FOR GOLD coin shop? And, how do you spot them. I don't recall ever hearing about those. Have a happy new year.
They usually offer you like 10% melt for your jewelry and coins. Really not a place to go unless you're desperate and need CASH NOW
I have a hand-me-down collection that I'm still doing inventory and research on. I'm going slow because I like coins with stories behind them. I can't imagine how long it would take to catalog 5 pounds of coins. How many coins is that?! LOL.
I wont keep anything too common or modern unless its really interesting to me, low mintage, or silver. I will probably end up keeping maybe 50 coins out of the entire bag. But I only end up paying 17.50US to keep those 50 coins, so it's a hell of a bargain as far as I'm concerned.
That's interesting. I wouldn't have thought of that. I know you and I live in the same general area and there's not a lot of good coin shops around.
