Assuming you're referring to my 1911 Weak D Quarter Eagle, and not to the 1871 Seated Quarter, nor do I.
Got this on eBay on a whim, just arrived today and it looks pretty great. And a photo I snapped today. A nice rainbow for sure.
This 71-S proof Ike (still in OGP) came in the mail on Christmas Eve, and it's deep sunset gold color is gorgeous. This 1899-O Morgan looks a bit different after an acetone bath. I did use a Q-tip very gently to encourage certain areas to give up the gunk. Still not sure why I bought it, other than I felt the need to save it. Here's a before pic of the reverse (seller photo). It was a very grimy, sticky residue of some sort.
So I'm loading my register today with bank rolled coins and I came across this penny. It had cool coloring so l grabbed it. Then I flip it over and it is blank! Could 2 blanks been in together? Is there another one of these around without the back?
This week I picked up a 1909 VDB, 1914 D and a 1917 S. I am currently in negotiations for a 1931 S that is slabbed by PCGS. Also looking for a 1909 S VDB. We shall see.
That's what I am looking for. Also looking at a slabbed 1914 D just to have a slabbed one. The 1931 S I'm looking at is slabbed.
At least with the 1909-S VDB there's a lot of good information out there to check authenticity. I bought a nice slider a number of years back after doing my homework.
Since the OP describes himself as a new collector, I suggested the safest route for him. But there is a lot of info out there.
