Just wondering what a 1990 mint misstamp penny may be worth.
The coin retains its date and mint and is misstamped to about 1/3 missing.

    Thank you

    Welcome to the Forum Narem

That is good that it has the date on it. I can not give you to much info on the worth of the coin but I can try to save you some time by asking for a picture.

A picture will help the big boys here help you.

Also a little more detail, when you say misstamped to about 1/3 missing, do you mean it looks like something was in the way and 1/3 is not there, or do you mean that the planchet is was offset when struck?

Just tryin to help others help you.

Thanks for your help and i will try to gather up a picture of the coin.
What i meant by misstamp and 1/3 missing is that, 2/3 of the coins is stamped normaly but off target, and the remaining 1/3 of the coin is blank. .. I'm sorry i'm a novice collector and not familiar with the proper terminology. I am in the US military and have traveled quite extensivly abroad, so i pick up a few coins here and there. This coin however, i picked up in 1990 working as assistant manager at a Little Caesars pizza ..(/insert pizza pizza comment here)
I'm sure a photo would help, i'll try and get one to you all soon.

    Thanks again.

Welcome, Narem. What you described sounds like an off-center strike, but a picture will always help.

off center strikes such as you describe 31-70% Rarity level 4-6 values are $5 and up,, depending on the condition of the coin and other factors having the date and mint mark are both plus factors in determining value,

Gahh, sorry to dissapooint. I left the coins at home yesterday. Today i was all set, i brought in my coins and had a freind bring in his 6.1 Mpix camera.. and bahh. I can't get a proper focus. So being in research i have some connections. I take my coins up to the pathologists and place them on a grossing microscope. WOW the images through the lens are amazing; however, once we turned on the attached digital camera we could not fit the total coin in view. So now i dont know what to do.

On a side note, while rumaging through my coins i found my ghost coin. its a 2001 penny thats ghosted on both side the 1 in the 2001 can only be seen through maginification. Something odd about this ghost is that it has this blackened greese-like substance on it i can not remove. The substance will smeer around but i cant get it off, its almost as if the coin is producing it? I will keep trying..

    First, Welcome to the forum.
Second, yes it is an off center strike.
    nice piece.
What ever you do, DON'T clean it.
    value? About $5.00
But, Mike Diamond will be along soon to give you a better estimate.

Actually, $5.00 is a good estimate, for that coin, in that condition.
Those are very popular on eBay, and I checked numerous completed auctions for similar off-center clad cents.
Anywhere from $4-$8 seems to be the current going rate, on that particular venue.

These will be worth more one day...check how much an off struck indian costs.

    Jerome:
    That is because:
    1) there aren't that many off center Indian cents.
    2) They didn't save them back then.
    3) The mint had some quality control in those days and errors did not slip through that easily (unless you did something easy, like bribe someone).

the peace dollars are all common dates, they list (retail in trends values) at about $18 in very good (not a high grade).
Actual value is more like about $12 +.
(Note: Do you know where the mint marks are? It is to the left on the back (reverse) just above the eagle's tail) check for the mintmarks.
    On the Morgan dollars:
values as listed about the same as the Peace dollars, about $13 + depending upon condition.
Again, check for mint marks, on the reverse below the eagle's tail. If the 1888 has an S (for San Francisco) it is worth more.
If the 1879 has a CC then it is worth a lot more.
    Let us know.
    And good luck.

P.S Next time post the question in the "What's it Worth" thread, you'll get more answers quicker.
