...rather, a 'What do YOU Think They Should Grade".

    Thanks!

Fine 12, on the first, EF-40 on the second. Nice coins!

    #1: F15 Details (harshly cleaned)
#2: VF35 the intermittent spotting on the reverse seem strange. I'm 50/50 on straight grade

Edit: after more consideration of the obverse, I'm at VF30. I do like the second coin. :)

    Should be F12 and VF20, but I'm guessing they're both F15.

Note: both are straight-graded (Anacs, NGC).

F15, VF25 - ANACS was kind of lenient with lightly cleaned coins, so a straight grade doesn’t surprise me.

    I'd say F12, VF25

Vert nice pair of quarters. Large date capped bust types are the best.

Thank you, guys for your opinions. They are really much appreciated.

I started this thread because I wanted to hear opinions from guys who know coins, as all of you do, on the grades of these two examples.

You input on these two CBQ's average out at F12 and VF20 respectively.
(My own grades are F10 and VF18 (let's call it 20)).

Interestingly, ANACS graded the 1st example VG8.
NGC graded the second example at F12.

I struggle to understand these relatively low grades, specially for the NGC example.

I don’t either. I think we have the same opinion on the grades I tend to grade on the more conservative side for the most part myself as I learned coin grading before there were much slabbed coins or the current gradeflation the second coin I thought f 15 personally but wouldn’t have been surprised to see it in a vf 20 slab

I was a bit generous in my grades, but I'm surprised that only got F12... I agree that they're under-graded.
