Forgot to mention I recently started my 97th Album. A dealer gave me a blank Mercury Dime Whitman Album and I filled it with duplicates with the exception of the 16D and 42/41. That is now set #9 of Mercury Dimes and all in zip lock bags.
Dansco? That feedback is helpful to me as I have my silver quarter collection (1932-1998) in Dansco with Slip cover cases in Ziplocks. I spent decent money and a lot of time putting these and other coins (mostly modern stuff like Kennedy's) in those albumns. It seems some of those coins have toned after one year. I recently bought Reynolds Handi-Vac bags which suck out all the air with a battery powered device. Seems to work great. Humidity in safe is 55-60% and I will have to add a bunch more desicants I guess.
I confess sto owning some uncirculated coins ( in the old parlance, BU) I worry about them toning, etc. I sometimes wonder if it is worth the worry. I am finding that I really can enjoy F,VF, and EF coins, with none of the worry. I recently completed a set of silver Washington quarters. Many of them are uncirculated. Some have already begun to tone in the album. I have done what someone above suggested and embraced the "horror". The toning is really not unattractive, and I think I can come to love it.
