Hey, i found this quarter in my change, and it seems like it's worth something, I'm just not sure how much...
It's a 2000 D Massachusetts quarter. It appears to have been double struck at an odd angle...it's hard to describe so just look at the pics :D umm...it seems to have the previous layer showing through, but im no expert on this stuff.
    Any ideas on value?
    Any help is greatly appreciated
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Welcome to the forum, Birdy.

Your coin looks like a sandwich job where the coin was sandwiched between two things and either struck or squeezed. In the case of your coin it appears to have been sandwiched between another quarter and a sidewalk or driveway (or some other use for concrete).

The damage is definitely post-Mint. Notice how the rim of the donar coin is incused into your coin?

Don't know the answer, but I know the question, it's always, "Mint or post-mint damage?" We have tons of expertise, here, and they've seen it all, so just hang in there...

Hobo, I was writing my reply, evidently, as you were writing yours. As you can see, I meant for you experts to come after my reply. So next time, if it's not too much trouble... :D

You misunderstood. I was trying to say I wasn't ignoring your initial reply, I just didn't see it when I sent my initial reply. Just thought you might have thought I was, given the timing, that's all. Oh well...

No, no, no. I understand perfectly. And I hate it when that happens to me. Sometimes (i.e., usually) I take a long time to write my response exactly the way I want it only to find that someone else has posted a reply while I was writing mine making my reply look somewhat foolish. Oh, well. That's the nature of the Internet.
