2016-D penny environmental toning causing halographic shadow

    Looking straight at the obverse side theres no casting. When rotating and viewing from angles the shadow shows up. Its amazing to look at.

    could be some chemical reaction with the copper under specific circumstances.

    That coin has been cleaned with a harsh chemicals

    I only said that because I spilt a chemical for removing copper staining on some copper cent and it made it look that way

    The penny only look like that on a flash photo. Other then the shadowing its the same color tone as the others. The camera does not justice.
