    Bullion, yeah right.
When did silver reach $1200+ an ounce?

I don’t anticipate the 2019-S ERP ASE trading as a bullion coin unless the economy completely collapses. I assume its value will soften some, but I don’t see it going anywhere near its issue price during my lifetime.

100k would've sold at issue price in after market? No way. You've got the 2011 sets to prove that wrong.

Pride of two nations set is selling for issue price or less for the raw US set.

The Canadian is the factor in that though. Granted it is a nice looking ERP but not $74 worth. It is the drag on that set.

So off base. Your comparing apples to dung. What American, red hat or blue hat would actually compare a Chinese "silver" Panda to an American made ASE with a maximum mintage of 30,000. I do know that what I purchased directly from the US Mint is genuine. I wouldn't even try to hold my breath long enough to find out about a panda.
Maybe you are wrong this time around.

The Canadian coin certainly isn't doing it any favors, but there's only so many times you can put out RP/ERPS with mintages in the 6 figures before fatigue starts to set in.

Unless the mint issues a 2020 ASE with a 25,000 limit, rendering the 2019 issue passe.
    Then a 2021 at 20,000 limit, etc.
    Rinse and repeat.

Not saying it will happen but won't be surprised when it does.

The mint is laser focused on marketing these days, and they pay close attention to what sells and what doesn't. The 2019 feeding frenzy wasn't lost on them.

Mintage, blast. I like the set. I bought it because I lacked a Maple Leaf in my collection, and I know I paid too much for it.

They definitely do know what sells now, but I do think they finally have people in charge that are aware of how an issue will impact the series as a whole. If they go to far down the dropping mintage rabbit hole it'll just be the new norm and nothing worth getting excited about.

They could use things like the 40th anniversary as an excuse for another low mintage though like 40k for 40 years.

Which IMHO demonstrates the fact that people like the ERP S-Mint coin for the money, and not the coin, because the two coins (the S Mint Coin and the coin from the Pride of Two Nations set), except for the Mint mark, are exactly the same.

People like things that are hard to get. That set actually took a lot longer to sell out than I had thought and the Canadian issued ones were an unexpected curve. There were a lot of factors, but I still do feel that we've gotten to the point now were enough RP/ERPs have been done that simply being one isn't an assurance of appreciation. That of course could reset for the first couple if they really do change the design

Agreed. They’ve lost that “new car smell” now, but these ERPs are the next generation of special finishes. I bought one, because I really like this treatment on the SAE. I own the enhanced uncirculated SAE, and buying this was a no-brainer. It’s unfortunate that the market thinks that my W Mint coin is so inferior to the S Mint Coin, but the truth is that I bought the coin because I like the way it looks. The letter on the back means nothing to me.

I agree that that they can't reduce the mintage figures to zero but that's only one tool in their kit...

They figured out that adding a unique Kennedy half will boost sales of an otherwise humdrum clad Apollo half.

Throw in a unique "W" Lincoln cent and people will buy thousands of worthless clad proof and uncirculated sets.

Limit the mintage of an otherwise ordinary reverse proof ASE and create an artificial frenzy.

These are the formulas that are working and I expect them to continue.

I hope they do keep it up, things had gotten so stale with the offerings and we finally had an exciting year again. Not everything they tried was a big success like the Portugal Apollo set, but I do like that they're trying things and catching up to the rest of the world mints in that sense.

The mint should reveal the direction the postal system took with philately and see they are repeating history, too much junk, IMO, Jim

It is speculation to make a quick buck, not building new collector base.

In your opinion, but it's hard to argue against products that build huge excitement not getting peoples attention.

Let's look at the SAE finish options so far...
UNC, SATIN, PR, RP, EP, ERP. Did i forget any ???
Leaving out colorized, and antiqued, how many options are left to try, ???
Maybe a high relief 2oz, with the plethora of finishes ???
Here's a Silver Eagle with unbelievable high relief to compare.

In your opinion. The only excitement is among dealers wanting to make a quick $1,000 per coin; IMO.
