1983 Lincoln cent- something happened to the reverse by the AM?

    The D mint mark looks like it is sinking too which means it is corroding from the inside out.

    Zincoln cannibalism at its best.

    First rule about zincolns.... If it is discolored ... just don't.

    Corrosion. Zinc is almost the worst metal you can use for coinage. And Manganese (war nickels and Sac/Pres dollars).
