They don't circulate that far. I have proof.

So recently I found myself with a really big bill that I had to pay off. To partly pay it off, I culled alot of star, pre-1988, and some other notes that I had on the side. Basically if they were semi-worn out or less, out they go. Save all the good stuff.

Turns out i've been re-encountering alot of them, mostly the $1 stars. The kicker was in a single day, I re-encountered a Series 1981 $1 note three times.

Once for breakfast (which got used to buy a soda from the overpriced snack shop in the Hospital), got it back as change for lunch (respent on buying Lego's), and once again getting the note back for dinner I gave up and threw it into the cashbox that I set aside for worn out notes I encounter (It was beatup from all the years of circulation). Fill it up, and empty it at the end of the month to either pay bills or save in the bank. Find at least a good $200 in worn notes that should be going to the BEP shredders.
