Here's 2 die chip errors I thought I would share with you guys. Merry Christmas . Oh and incase some of you old timers cant see, the chips are on the hat in the quarter and in the O in the nickle
Ohhhh, Meow love to keep them die chips. Its just too bad Meow lives in a Denver coin area, and gets mostly D Mint coins. Its the P mint Philly coins that have the most die chips and other minor issues the most.
Old timers? LOL I can see both chips just find. I also see the finger/thumb print on the obverse. Is that a die chip on the obverse of the Quarter? It runs through STATES. The nickel looks like a FS to me as well.
Yea, not my fingerprint lol. What is a FS? The artists initials? And I'm not sure I see what your talking about on the obverse of the quarter
Full Steps. On the reverse on Monticello there should be 5 steps. There really are 6 but FS is the designation for 5 or 6. To be FS, there can be no breaks or disruptions to the steps. 1 little nick and it's no a FS coin.
Oh ok. I knew there was something with the steps I should look out for but didn't know exactly what it was. Is it rare?
They can be quite rare in certain years, Not so much in others. Still not a bad thing at all to have a good strike regardless.
So all full steps are is a good strike, right? It's not a mint error? .. are all older coins in great condition worth more than face value?
