I for some reason don't have a single Canadian half dollar. I need to rectify that at some point.

Canadian half dollars are fun to collect, especially when you can buy a complete set of George V half dollars for a little over melt.

I collect these Canadian 50 cent pieces dated from 1937-1967 but toned. All I missing are dates 1938, 1940 needs upgrade, 1948, 1955

I just got into them. I bought a collection that had a bunch of old Canadian whitman albums partially completed. The folder is early 50s. 20191220_073257.jpg 20191220_073401.jpg 20191220_073224.jpg 20191220_073234.jpg

I have an affinity for the early nickel 5 cent coins. Nice set (purchase).

I bought an uncirculated 1937 50 cent recently for just over melt. It still has a little bit of nice toning and great luster.

Yeah, I'm going to fill this album. They are really handsome coins, and this vintage Whitman deserves to be full

It's pretty cool when you have a folder labelled "1922-to-date" and it ends in 1954!

Your post runs contrary to the title. I think you have some very special coins. I love the design on the reverse, and yeah, they’re circulated, but really nice acquire...Spark

WOW! I only have pennies, nickels (is that what they call them?), dimes (again, is that what they call ten cents?), and a quarter (twenty-five cents). I love them all, no matter the shape they're in. I do have some beautiful coins that I bought directly from their mint. I bought one of their Zodiac coins for my wife's birthday this past year. They have a neat system to show off their coins. It's a wood frame that comes apart with clear sheets on each that sandwiches the coin for viewing. It looks like the coin is suspended in mid-air. My wife loves it. I did get the two coins (a U.S. ASE and the specially minted Maple Leaf coin set). Over the past couple of years, I have gotten other special coins. They are very creative with their coins, compared to our "stock" coins.)

I just made an offer on a really nicely toned example and waiting to hear back. The only thing that sucks is that most of these are in Canada, so you have to wait for INT shipping.

You can see when this collector stopped collecting. These albums have that old book smell that is just comforting. 20191220_131328.jpg 20191220_131342.jpg 20191220_131352.jpg 20191220_131359.jpg 20191220_131404.jpg

These are like time capsules...but Whitmans don’t protect as well as flips or neutral material, like mylar and non-PVC.

When I started organizing my stuff in 2011, one of the first things I did was remove about 800 coins from Whitman folders into flips and plastic (safe) sleeves. That and all coins out of wrapped rolls or plastic tubes. I wanted to work with them...see them, photograph them, show them. I saw the effects of time on those stored in the Whitmans. Some of the first coins I put into a Whitman were wheats...the obverses had turned brown while the reverses remained red.

You are going to have a flat-out blast cataloging these coins...Spark

I just noticed my half dollar album is a misprint! Look at the cover! And my 1937 is on its way, so I'm actually excited about collecting for the first time in a while. These are the seller's pics. Gonna look great in this album. 20191220_073257.jpg Capture.PNG Capturebn.PNG

another drawback with these whitmans is that the coins can fall out if you're not careful.

This is why I use airtites in a "Caps" 3 ring pages. plus the airtites protect the coin from being damaged. I have my Toned Canadian 50 cent pieces on the "caps" pages in airtites as well as my toned Canadian caribou quarters and even my Canadian dimes and cents in airtites on a "Caps" page...

Wow! That's quite a collection you found. I too am into collecting Canadian coins. I have completed a Small Cent 1920-2012 date set and almost completed a Canada Nickel 1922-2019 date set. I am still missing the 1925 and the 2017-2019 coins.

I see you are missing a few of the Nickels and Small Cents. While I can't help ya with the early years of the Small Cents, I would be more than happy to help ya fill some of the holes in the Nickel book. I know I have an extra 43 Tombac and probably have a couple others as well.

As for the Small Cents, Canada stopped minting those in 2012 so it is possible to complete that set 1920-2012. If you are interested in going further with those I can definitely help ya out there to.

I would never try to sell anyone a coin going through a public thread like this so all coins offered to you here would be free of charge if shipping to US address. All you gotta do is let me know.
