Technically, plating blisters are a Mint error just as laminations and clamshells are. This example is a bright BU zinc cent and has the most extreme form of plating blisters I have ever seen. (I don't yet have the coin so I cant post the reverse yet.) So, in your opinion, is it a cool Mint error or would you say it is ugly/damaged? Please vote!
I hope you have all your vaccinations up-to-date when handling that thing I usually toss plating blisters in the junk pile but this one is interesting enough to keep...if the price is right...1 cent
One of the best examples, I agree - Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so I like it, especially with the Measles out there !
I have a similar product but not as severe, I keep it to teach/show the problems the Mint had producing these new cents...Spark
When we were kids we took a zinc penny and held it under an open flame on the gas stove in the kitchen with a pair of needle nosed pliers. Looked just like that after a few moments of being in the flame. We held it longer and it then started to turn dark and deteriorate quickly.
I just got a notification that all of a sudden the seller can't find it. I really can't attest to why, but that is one excuse I never believe from a seller.
