Back in 1995 I bought a Bag of 1995 P pennies to search, After about 1/4 of the bag was finished I was fish eyed and tired of it, The remainder is in the safe in case my vision retirns The results were 2 D/D's and 3 pennies that look as if they were struck thru a foreign object?? I know nothing about errors and wonder where I can find that information? Thanks Bob ^..^
You can get some information here if you can post pics of the coins. You could also try the Error World web site.
You can find errors and varieties at http://conecaonline.org/ and there's a list of pennies by RPM at http://conecaonline.org/content/Top1001cRPMs.htm but it only goes to 1989 because in 1990 the mint started making the mint mark a part of the die and no longer tap them in separately. So if you have a D/D it's probably machine doubling. I'm no expert but that's just my understanding of it. I have searched through many bags of pennies and occasionally found something worthwhile. It's fun. I like hearing from other people who have tried it. Thanks for sharing your finds with us. You'll probably see something that can help with your strike throughs at Coneca.
That is correct. I refer to the Double Die in the year 1995 Hey thanks for all of those sites to look up and I just bought a camera that I can hopefully get some pictures. My wife worked at a bank and has a banknote $1 that has the back prinyed over the front and I don't even know what it is called. Errors to me are interesting, But main interests are pennies to Silver dollars and completeing sets. I have a 2X-4X microscope that I use and the bag of pennies was a flash to try!! Whew~~~~~~~~
Ok ,cool ,, Two of the biggies for 1995 I have yet to find one, and Ive been through several dozen rolls, I look forward to the pictures. Rick
