ok i cant find this rpm with the chip in 6 and top of R ive found a bottom not a top is that not a die chip on R?
A die chip or even a die crack is not the best marker for determining whether a coin is an RPM or not. Chris
The mint mark looks to have a split serif on the bottom, maybe top, which would make it one of the small date rpm's. Nice chips. It might also have a "spike head" going to the "W".
Thanks for weighing in & hope I'm not a bother by mentioning you here. I have hundreds of RPM's but have never found the time to get after them. Very time consuming to say the least, especially 1959 & 1960.
I enjoy offering what I can, this coin has lots of fun stuff going on, looks like a crack on the fore head could be a retained interior die break with clearer pics.
I do not think it is a RPM, as one has to add that since the date clearly shows MD, and the mm is in the same area, it would be affected by the same MD, so it would be almost impossible to discern which if any it was. IMO, Jim
im not agreeing or disagreeing cause your in this game alot longer than me but here some better pics. Ty for feedback
The scratch to the die face that ran NE to SE through the Y in LIBERTY. Interesting note is that Coppercoins has two die states and I selected LDS. As noted by our fellow enthusiast above, cracks and chips can be helpful...but can also cause confusion. I'm suspect of the LDS assignment. But the clash to the left of the date is also quite visible.
