Can you help with this George 111 shilling?

Found this George 111 shilling in a worker's cottage on a site in Lancashire. Easy enough to research, gave us valuable dating evidence, and as well worn the demolition of the site probably dates to the 1820-30's.
However confused by the 2 on the neck of the monarch. Any one got any idea what is means? Verification of authenticity?
    Thanks,
    SMHopkins

A counterstamp of some sort. Only the person who put it there would know for sure.

  4. Send a photo of it to the chopmarknews@gmail.com . Collin Gullberg is one of the leading experts in the world on chopmarks .

Thanks. Collin replied that his area of expertise is outside this coin, so still looking for an answer.

  6. Sorry Mr Gullberg was of no help he had helped myself and others in the past past start looking for every thing you can on chopmarks and search the internet coin sights for examples .

  7. This one is 1787 it has a few chops . Chinese chops found on other than large crown size coins, trade dollars , 8 Reale , etc are harder find. F M Rose and the book by Mr Gullberg will help if you can find them I have searched for a couple of years now and have yet to find them . I have even checked AbeBooks web sites . Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
