1969 S DDO -OO2 is this it? View attachment 1039600 View attachment 1039602 View attachment 1039603 View attachment 1039604 View attachment 1039606
Mintmarks are punched into the die after the die is made. If the die is doubled the mintmark will not be doubled because it is a separate process. If the mintmark and the date show doubling in the same direction it is caused by machine doubling. http://doubleddie.com/144801.html http://doubleddie.com/144822.html
This is why it's important to understand the minting process and it's changes over the years. Just by what alurid stated, it makes this MD without even being able to identify proper DD vs MD.
Curiously, the Stage A version of the variety calls out MD on the date and MM, however, your coin is not WDDO-002. Here is the link to Coppercoins which shows the diagnostic markers better for that variety: http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1969&die_id=1969s1do003&die_state=mds Keep at it Alexander. It'll happen for you!!
