Sorry to be a nuisance, i have tried everything to find out something about this coin, i am unsure so i tried the words 1 Anhap 1 Ahhap, Russian coins 1915, what does Etap mean etc, Rulers of foreign countries called II Etap I, everything and cant come up with anything, i thought it may be Russian as i came across a coin which had a similar design on the Obverse (lol i am picking up small amounts of coin speak, im getting quite into this) anyway, the only difference being the crown on the top of it, this coin says Schwartz under the head so i am guessing this is the place it was minted? or the designer? any help even just pointing me in the right direction of language is very much appreciated, thank you
Jessica, this is a coin from Serbia. Serbia at the time this coin was minted was part of Yugoslavia. Catalog number KM #25.1, 1 dinar denomination. Your coin has the designers signature below the neck. Price VF $4 and XF $8. Remember the prices in my catalog are old. Lou
Just a minor correction. In 1915, Serbia was still an independent Kingdom. The Kingdom of Yugoslavia was formed at the end of WWI (1918), basically enlarging the Kingdom of Serbia to include the southern Slavic regions of the dismantled Austro-Hungarian Empire (modern Slovenia and Croatia), the northern regions of the dismantled Ottoman Empire (modern Bosnia and Macedonia-taken after the Balkan Wars of 1912-1913), and the Kingdom of Montenegro.
ΠETAP I is Cyrillic for Petar I KPAЉ CPБИJE is Cyrillic for King of Serbia ДИHAP is Cyrillic for Dinar, the unit currency
