Guys, I don't know if these are ancient or just plain old. I don't know if they are Persian or Indian princely states, or something else. I've lightened the scan slightly, both sides showing. I got them along with around 500 world coins from a contact at the local dump. Someone was throwing them out.
Top right is Nepal, all the rest are Indian states, maybe 1300s to late 1800s. The ones with the elephants are Mysore, and there is one bull and horseman jital
Hi Dave, 3rd row 1st coin on the left is this......Paul https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces47441.html
2nd row middle coin...Throwing them away!! https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces37250.html Dave looking at the rest of these coins I think you'd be better off posting them on the world coins section...I don't know what the cut off date for ancients is here but I'm pretty sure they're later ....Can't believe someone was throwing these away, nice little group....Good pick up...Congrats Paul
Wow! & Yikes! Congrats on saving these & the other 400+ or so from a fate worse than death!...from a dump!!! Kudos & hope there's something valuable in there, although a 500 +/- hoard is a nice reward in itself!
Actually I think I can take a crack at it United States, Quarter 5.6g 24mm obv- George Washington facing left/ LIBERTY 1984 IN GOD WE TRUST rev- Heraldic eagle facing left / UNITED STATES OF AMERICA QUARTER DOLLAR
I found Maundy Money, a US Two Cent 1864, quite a bit of scrap silver. These military cap badges from UK, Australia and Canada. Silver rings and earrings, a trench whistle. A cameo , more badges and sweetheart brooches. Tin plate clockwork train. This was someones collection that died and the relatives just bagged it up and dumped it. If they had called me first I would have given them money for the stuff as that is my job, clearing houses. Heaven knows what else was dumped.
Greetings @daveydempsey —Those regimental cap badges are beautiful and very collectable. I used to collect them before I fell victim to ancient coin madness
