Just curious on what approximate value would be. I found this the other day going thru my 90% stack of Kennedy's! Thanks

To bad it’s not in a little better shape but nice all the same! Nice catch and good eye.

Nice coin. I also would like to know the value of a tripled die coin.
Have you posted it in the error coin forum?

I did an e-bay search and found a few of these DDO-005 coins.(TDO-005)
They seem to carry a good premium in an MS slab.

When you posted your coin I checked my coins (All 4 of them) The one I had in with my bullion coins is a DDO-005. Needless to say I was quite excited about that. I would not ever have noticed it but for your post. Thank you for posting your coin.

Wow that's an awesome find Alurid! I'm glad you were inspired to find one! I have a stack of '65-'69 40%'ers I'm gonna go through and see what I can find as well!

Well, for us newbies, can someone please add some arrows, or/and explain how this is a triple DDO?

I can't articulate the minting process on these anomalies but these line are the result....

Wow! Thank you so much! That picture tells it all. But, this is a triple DDO, rather than a "strike" doubling? That it came from a bad die?

Yes, The die used to strike this coin had a triple image imprinted into it.

Strike Doubling will have a shelf like appearance on each digit making the letter or digit smaller.

    Edittt...

You can see in the pics how the letters and digits have separated serif's.

Man... I was given a 1964 half in change at Little Caesar's the other day.

The coin looked brand new until I showed my dad and he dropped it. Put a nice big dent on it. The ridges on the side of this coin are so sharp it looks like they could cut you.

I was devastated. Wonder what that drop could have cost me?

TO ALL NEWBIES: This is an excellent article on DD's. I almost think it should be required reading to join. :) And, that's coming from this newbie.
