Thought I'd post a quick little guess the grade thread. Here's a 1927 Peace Dollar I recently acquired. It's a non-major grading service (not NGC or PCGS). I don't know the grading standards of this particular year in terms of strike, etc. Happy guessing!

That should grade about a MS-63 but with a no name grading company. MS-65 or 66 is possible.

Might just be the images but looks cleaned to me it looks unnaturally dull for the amount of detail. If it's straight graded I'll guess it's in an AU58 holder.

Definitely not cleaned. The plastic was tough to photo through.

    So here you go:
    MS63
I think it is a generous grade due to all the contact marks on the obverse and a couple big ones on the reverse.
I have another Peace in the same type of slab I'll post later for a comparison GTG.
    Happy Holidays!

Looks like there’s a decent bit of high point wear. I’d call it AU 58 based on the photos. Aside from the wear it appears to be pretty clean and being an “off brand” grading company I’ll guess they called it a 65.

Just seeing it’s PCI...that’s not too bad of a grading company.

Yup, wear on the hairlines, and wing joint. Weak strike on the "In God". My guess AU 58. For some reason I can't post pics yet. Or I would post some of my 1927 ANACS MS64 I am selling. You would likely see a big difference putting them side by side.

The older PCI was decent (especially the older green labels and the Hallmark slabs before PCI). By the time they reached the slab seen in this thread, there had been multiple ownership changes and looser standards.

There are some pretty major hits on both sides. To me it's a 62 at best.

I’d be a buyer if that coin @ AU 58 money....just my opinion.
