Pretty sure I've got a 1944 D over s coin near mint state just curious if I could get anybody's opinion on it I also have about four other 1944 D near mint State coins that I think 1 or two of them are a double die
I think I can guess but is it a coin or a car? I don't, but some folks here might like to see pictures. BTW: Welcome to the forum.
Not sure what you have to take images with . Here's the listing for OMM(s) . http://varietyvista.com/02a LC RPMs Vol 1/OMMs 1944D.htm Here's the listings for doubled die(s) . http://varietyvista.com/01a LC Doubled Dies Vol 1/DDO Listings.htm
What kind of coin? Penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar? Photos are important and easy to upload.
You know you started a second thread, right? Maybe the MOD's can fix it for you. You'll get it, it just takes a little time. Although, I think you might need clearer pictures. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1944-d-over-s.351784/#post-3939887
I agree with @Islander80-83 that you need clearer photos. Did you compare your coin to those listed on this site? http://doubleddie.com/921576.html Also here: http://varietyvista.com/02a LC RPMs Vol 1/OMMs 1944D.htm
Your close-up appears to be digitally enhanced, and the problem with this is that the image becomes more and more pixilated. So, you begin to see things that aren't really there, as in pareidolia. Chris
With a D over S you will clearly see the S underneath. So it's not that. I don't see any kind of pronounced doubling. When you look at a coin through a microscope you are going to see all kinds of things. Coins are not perfect and they are minted very quickly. That is going to create some imperfections, but not errors. As for mint state, upright birds eye view photos might be more helpful.
Sorry folks about the no pictures post yesterday ,I was having a problem uploading them on to the site due to a data problem that is why I created two different post . I apologize for being an idiot or my phone being an idiot one of the two LOL . I'll try to make sure it doesn't happen again.
No need to apologize as these things occur frequently. The longer you're around CT the more you use the program and the more you'll learn.
Yeah I suppose so huh cant expect to be perfect right off the bat I appreciate you being patient with me
