My wife's Grandfathers world coin collection..

My wife's Grandparents and parents moved from Malta to the USA just after WW2. Her Grandfather brought along a bag of foreign coins that my wife was given when he died. I m not really into foreign coins that much, but being rainy day, I started to look through them more closely. Here are some of the oldest that I have seen so far. I do not know where they are from or what country. There are some 200 coins in total. Any help would be grateful.

It looks like you have some silver coins that were in circulation some decades ago. Really cool, but not likely a great value above their silver melt value.

1913 Great Britain (Malta) 1/3 Farthing

1871 Great Britain 6 Pence .925 Silver

1939 Great Britain 3 Pence .500 Silver

1929 Netherlands 1 Cent

Unknown French Silver coin .835 Silver

 

Your last two coins are from the Netherlands. And the unknown French coin is probably 1 franc.

I know very little about world coins but there are imho very interesting. Nice way to spend a rainy day!

 

The French coin looks like 50 centimes as I have one too.

Hard to tell since that design was used for many decades and on many denominations.
