Its only a short time before the mint will allow anyone with the multi-millions to put their face on all cents produced in Washington on a single day. At least they will be on zinc and rot away
Neither am I, Jeff....but going around soliciting other people's orders BEFORE they are officially sold and/or delivered is unethical, IMO. Again...the government has restricted similar nefarious activity in other sales and investments. I think they can do it here to help get them into the hands of The Little Guy and not The Big Telemarketers.
Jesus H. Chryst...there's a thread for that ASE, back away from it here!!! I'll mention some stellar people who happen to be coin dealers. First and foremost is Joe Naso who sells (sold) coins at various flea markets in Ventura and Los Angeles counties in CA, really nice guy who would NEVER knowingly cheat you. Jeff Butler of CoinsPlus in Santa Clarita, Steve Yarnall of Pacific Coast Coins in Simi Valley. I would urge anyone around these guys to do business with them.
Today marks exactly a month since the ASE was put on the market. May I be bold enough to ask if anyone is as sick of hearing about it as I am?
yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes
Just hoping the speculators and gougers are long up the wazoo when the prices start to fall. Back to dealers....my LCS has been around since the mid-1970's and is very good. Sells at good prices, BUYS (when I needed $$$) similarly. I WANT to give him my business, because I believe an honest businessman should be rewarded. JMHO....
From a legal perspective, no they don't. Unfortunately, if a suit is filed, they'll have to spend thousands if not tens of thousands before they can ever get to that point. Lawyers aint free ! Ya see, when it comes to lawsuits, it's usually your wallet that's at true risk - not you. So if ya wanna speak your mind, by all means do so. But if ya do, realize what it might end up costing you for doing that
This post goes out to any and all who have similar opinions of their dealers - by all means, tell everybody their names and provide links to their websites if you have them You'll be doing them a favor, and doing a favor for everybody who reads it as well !
While we're on the subject of dealers. If you go to YouTube and search for "CoinHelpU " you will find many informative videos on coins and bullion. The owner, Daniel, has a shop in southern Ohio. Being new to this hobby, I have found his videos to be very good.
Happy to oblige, Doug...it's Clarkstown Coin and Jewelry....Nanuet, NY...right near the (old) Nanuet Mall (since re-designed and re-developed )...about 20 miles north of NYC. Maurice founded it, his son Seth runs it today. https://www.coins-jewelry.net/servi...004296&rl_track_landing_pages=1&rl_retarget=1
You don't lay down a gauntlet like that on ME, pal........I know a bunch of top-quality sushi, Thai, and Chinese spots in the area. Also a guy in the summer near the Palisades Mall who sells some mean hot dogs.
I like Bacchus & Rockwell in Lee's Summit, Missouri. He has some very good collection of coins, along with a few really nice pocket watches and a little jewelry. The dealer, Ted, is a life member of the ANA.
In my personal opinion any mint offering that is not circulating in some form or other is either a bullion piece or a token. I collect tokens but would never pay these inflated prices for one that is essentially an R-1 - extremely commonly available. Many R-1 tokens sell for twenty five cents for common arcades or $2.50 for older merchant tokens. Bullion pieces obviously are worth at least melt. Anything more than that is for pride of ownership solely.
