Hello All. I am wrong 99.99% of the time on any of my error questions and forms of doubling. This quarter just kind of stood out when I looked at it so I looked a little closer. If you look in one of the 400 photos (sorry for so many) but the T of IGWT has some form of doubling on the bottom right. The ribbon also seems to be doubled. I also see other areas but will try and keep it short. What is causing the doubling?or not doubling I think I'm seeing ? I believe it's the 3rd photo up from the bottom. Thanks in advance for any info.
If you look at the face FIRST, and see a ridge/ledge it is a primary indicator that the coin has Die Deterioration/MD. Notice in front of the lips, chin and nose that ledge, which is the same width as what is to the left of I of "in" and left G, right middle of O of "god" etc.
A worn die and I see what you mean. You are learning so believe us that it's worth face value and any doubling is NAV or No Added Value Doubling.
Yeah I was not thinking it was a doubled die. I just wasn't sure what caused it to do what I was seeing. I figured it was die deteriation but wanted to be sure. Thanks for the help
