Congrats @Heater , and thanks for taking some of the heat off of me, lol. I'm not sure why coincorgi has not been booted with all his personal attacks yet. The forum grump I guess.

The point of my post was to illuminate the greed factor involved with these issues. Nothing else. Apples to oranges, yes. I'd never compare the two issues (coins). But greed is universal, and crosses all collecting endeavors.....

The point is that this gentleman didn't try to capitalize on the hype, while so many fat cat dealers and their minions, did so.

Coin Corgi knows how to dance the line. Yes it is unnecessary and rude but not over the line. The other one was . Jim

I'm not sure how telling another member to go to hell does not break rule number 2. Kind of makes a joke of having rules if that kind of behavior is allowed.

"2 – Personal attacks are not permitted. All Coin Talk members, young, old and in between, will treat all other members with respect and be civil at all times."

Every friend that bought one for me has more money now than before. None care about coins at all, so this has at least got them looking at the mint site now. I just don't see how there is anything sleezy about that. Being from Kentucky, I have friends routinely making facebook posts about rare bourbons for sale, saying if anyone finds one, they will pay a premium for it. I don't drink, so don't mind buying one and selling it to them if I do see one.

Eh, the only ones who are really taking things too seriously are the ones cussing, calling us names, telling us to go to hell, etc for having our friends help buy some coins. Most people on this site are polite, and even if they do not like flipping, will not make a big deal about it. There have been a few though that are crossing the line, in my opinion.

Every one of your non-collector friends that got one is one less available for the rest of our collector friends who wanted one but didn't get one. All the non-collectors clogged up the system.

Hell is an unincorporated community in Putnam Township, Livingston County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. ( Wikimaps). I think there are as many seemingly bragging about it as those upset with it. Continual discussion doesn't help. IMO. Jim

"Bragging" about it is not against forum rules, like personal attacks are. And honestly, discussing is not the same as bragging. And I'm pretty sure he was not telling him to go to Michigan ;) Keep defending these guys if you would like, but I hope you are not letting your personal feelings about flipping get in the way of moderating.

Good to know we now have moderator approval to tell people to "go straight to hell".

I will expect the same response defending me you gave Jwitten if I ever decide to use the exact same term you just defended
