Latest Roman...High Grade.

    I picked this one up pretty much because it's in such great condition.
    This was found locally (not by me) in Linconshire UK.



    I know it is constantine but that's as far as my knowledge of it goes.


    $20 I paid. A steal?

    Obverse: IMP CONSTANTINVS PF AVG laurateate and cuirassed bust right

    Reverse: SOLI INVITO COMITI Sol standing left with globe and raising right hand, chlamys draped over shoulder, PTR in exergue, T-F around Sol

    Daes to 310-313 AD

    Trier Mint, RIC 102

    20mm, 3.00 grams

    Great looking coin , the obverse looks like an American Indian , cool . Is it silver ?

    Yeah, that sounds right. I have one of them, not as nice as this one.
    Its copper or bronze. :/

    pulled mine out to see. I paid $7 for mine, but mines pretty worn , so I'd say yeah you got a great deal.

    Check your legends more carefully. Yours say only CONSTANTINVS PF AVG. RIC VI Trier 873, 310-313 AD.

    Congrats on this find! Wow. I have a strong interest in roman culture and coins, just have not made the leap. Once I am satisfied with my current obsession I will most likely make that leap.

    Sol Invicti was the old Roman sun god.
    His birthday was December 25.
