If you send it in and it doesn't get Certified as a 1968 No S then you will miss getting anything for it. I would take the $5,000 and run before he changes his mind. Show more and better pics of both sides so we can tell if it is Real.

  5. Your dime is worth exactly 10 cents

@James Williams ...you are not a newbie anymore, and you should know that if he doesn’t send it in it will never be authenticated, at least, not properly. Then, when it is authenticated, pro or con, he will be able to honestly represent the coin for what it actually is.

@Charles Brooks ...the coin has neither been identified nor confirmed at this point. At the low end of the spectrum, it could be a MS63 worth $2.50. But it could be authenticated as a impaired PF64 No S No cameo worth $11,500.00.

This data is straight from NGC.

This is why we were asking for better pictures...Spark

...Point of clarification: the OP has not been seen on the forum since 12 April 2012. No one knows if he has done anything...Spark

I am not referring to the OP but post #109.
I thought that was a brand new post with a claim to the coin in question.

You are correct. Thread is getting twisty now, got to remember what is what. That post #109 could be the same coin or a different one, but we need pix for that too...Spark

So after reading the first page consensus was "maybe it is, maybe it isn't, send it for grading but if a dealer offers you $5000 for it. Sell it to him and commit fraud if it isnt, because hey $5000 and dealers are grimey!"

    Really?

And so after reading all 7 pages....
    1. Nice necro.
    2. Nice deflating of a scammer trying to suck someone in on here.
    3. Still iffy on the "sell it for $5k to that dealer and run" advice but feeling like it was more trolling the opportunity than anything else.

    Well played forumites, well played..
I didn't even notice the date on it until page 6 and figure out it was a necro. Lol

Boy what an awful long time for grading. Maybe TPGer should work a Saturday now and then

I have 1968 dime. looks to be a S dime. its dirty has very small spots of green, red and black on it. Don't know what the spots are. it won't clean up. u can't see the spots without magnifying glass. looks like it was made in the dime. What should i do? Any suggestions? would like to sell. but need to be cleaned first.

Start a new separate thread. Pictures are needed to determine anything. It is most likely a Dime with environmental exposure. Only worth 10 Cents.
