Going through some old change I found this guy. Its in pretty rough shape but you can still see the S over the S.

I'd be hard pressed to say it is the repunched S mm when comparing it to The Cherrypickers' Guide, FS-01-1925S-501 cent. It looks to me like the S took a hit.

This image is from Variety Vista. It looks a lot like this image IMO. The one I presented is a little more worn I think. Ill have to look at the cherry pickers guide as well. Thanks.

Anarchy...see how round the bottom of the ""S" is on the VV photo? Look at how flat across yours is. Mountain man is probably right here that it took a hit. The metal slid "upwards" a bit. I refuse to say it isnt or is anything but with RPMs, PMD can really be convincing. Check the markers and be very very critical of where the mint mark sits...it must be exact.

Thank you. Will check it out on Monday when I get to work. I have my microscope there and usually go through change on my lunch hour. Lol.

Thank you. Will check it out on Monday when I get to work. I have my microscope there and usually go through change on my lunch hour. Lol. With my 16x loop I think I see both of those landmarks so it will be the first thing I look at Monday morning.

Nice catch, it’s great to see a new member come up with something other that PMD! Like stated above get that sucker soaking in some VerdiCare ASAP to get that verdigris in check. Congratulations on a solid find.

VerdiCare is a conservation treatment that acts upon the verdigras and stops/slows their progression. DON'T CLEAN THE COIN! Instant dud after that. Do some research on conservation. Conservation is used on all types of coins and artifacts to maintain their value and help preserve the state of the object at this point in time. It won't repair a coin/artifact, but it keeps it from worsening.

Looks like it took a hit and is well circulated afterwards. Also has a bit of corrosion on it.

It does have the other two markers on the coin. Here is a closeup of the part beneath the L. Thank you for all your help.

Excellent! I was pretty sure that I saw that one but less confident on the marker by the right wheat stalk. Were you able to conserve that coin?

I put the coin in a flip holder. Going to find out about the verdicare stuff now.
